Balancing Hormones for Optimal Physical and Emotional Health
Balancing hormones is a real concern for many. The discovery of hormones was a major advance in medical science. These compounds, secreted by endocrine glands, enter the blood stream and exert a major influence on the functions of the body. They do this in tiny amounts, parts per million. They control growth, maturation, metabolism, immunity, organ function, mood, stress levels and reproduction. The hormones that make the sexual differences and regular reproductive function vary in their levels both over the cycle of our life and in smaller cycles during our adult years.
Both men and women go through three distinct stages in life, each controlled by changes in hormonal levels. Prior to puberty, there are enough hormones present to make the basic differences between boys and girls, but not enough to enable reproductive functions. Learn more about puberty, the adult female cycle, and creating female balance in this month’s Sunshine Sharing.
There are many products from NSP that can help support a woman during her changing cycles. You can view the Balanced Woman Product Page to learn more. I listed the products in the order they are mentioned in the Sunshine Sharing issue for ease. Remember, stress also has a large impact on our hormones for both males and females. If you have trouble sleeping I love Ashwagandha. Nature’s Sunshine created a specific formulation to help you get a good night’s sleep that has been clinically studied. It helps anyone under chronic stress regain energy and stamina. For daily stress and irritability, I love Nutri Calm.
